SHUT UP AND WRITE began in November of 2022, just a month after Emmalee and Josh met. It started as a small group of friends gathering in each other’s homes twice a month to write in each other’s company.

So far, we’ve been grateful to meet at East Nashville Beer Works, Third Coast Comedy Club, Rice Vice by Proper Sake, The Porch, and Actor’s Bridge. We’ve also partnered with other creative groups for SHUT UP AND CREATE (with Creative Mornings Nashville), SHUT UP AND SKETCH (with Sketchbook Club Nashville), and SHUT UP AND FREEHAND (with Freehand Nashville).
